West officially files petition to run for mayor

A former mayor of New Paltz is officially back in the race for his old position. Jason West filed his petitions with the Village Clerk Monday to get on the ballot for the upcoming election.

You'll remember West married same sex couples in New York illegally seven years ago. Current mayor Terry Dungan beat out West in the 2007 elections.
